What is an XBRL file?

XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) is the structured format Italian Chambers of Commerce use to acquire filed annual accounts. It carries the balance-sheet and income-statement items in a machine-readable form, not the pages of a PDF.

How do I download my XBRL accounts from the Business Register?

Accepted Answer

Search the company on registroimprese.it and select the XBRL instance among its filed accounts, if available. A PDF cannot be read by this analyzer. The register service may charge a fee: check the chosen channel’s current conditions.

Is my financial data safe?

Accepted Answer

The XBRL file is read by the browser with JavaScript and is not sent to a server: the analysis runs on your device. The page also loads analytics and, at the bottom, a contact form: those are separate from the analysis and do not receive the file contents or the figures in your accounts.

Which ratios are calculated?

13 ratios in 4 categories: LIQUIDITY (Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Cash Ratio), SOLVENCY (Debt to Equity, Leverage, Interest Coverage), PROFITABILITY (ROI, ROE, ROS, EBITDA Margin), EFFICIENCY (Days Sales Outstanding, Days Payable Outstanding, Asset Turnover). Each ratio shows an indicative reference band, not a statutory threshold.

Does the tool work with a simplified SRL or an innovative startup?

Accepted Answer

The legal form does not determine parser compatibility: the file must use an OIC taxonomy the parser recognises. SRLS and innovative startups can file OIC accounts, but an IFRS or otherwise unsupported filing is outside this tool’s scope.

Does the English analyzer give a pass/fail rating?

Accepted Answer

No. The English version shows numerical values and explanations without traffic-light judgments. Reference bands are inherited indicative levels, not statutory thresholds or evidence that a company is healthy. Interpretation depends on the sector, accounting policies and the parser’s estimates.

What is the difference between ROI, ROE and ROS?

Accepted Answer

ROI relates reconstructed EBIT to total book assets; ROE relates net income to book equity; ROS relates reconstructed EBIT to sales. These are accounting ratios, not the return on a company purchase price, a promised dividend or cash generated.

Can I use the analysis to talk to my bank?

Accepted Answer

It can be a starting point for the conversation with your relationship manager: it helps you spot weak points and present a plan. It is not a rating or a lending decision, though: the bank applies its own policies and models.

Does the analysis work for sole traders (ditte individuali)?

Accepted Answer

Sole traders do not normally file an OIC XBRL annual-accounts instance at the Business Register. This tool requires such a filing; it does not prepare accounts or turn an income statement into a complete balance sheet.

What is the DSCR and why does the tool ask for the loan repayment?

Accepted Answer

DSCR compares a cash-flow measure with debt service over a matching period. This tool instead uses a simplified historical approximation: reconstructed EBITDA divided by the absolute mapped finance field plus the annual principal repayment you enter. Use a matching-year repayment from your loan schedule; for a forecast, prepare a separate forward-looking cash-flow plan.

What are the imbalance indicators in the dashboard?

Four illustrative ratios compare the mapped finance result with revenue, equity with debts, profit plus depreciation with assets, and current assets with short-term debts. They are relevant to financial monitoring but are not formulas or compliance thresholds prescribed by art. 3 of the Crisis Code. A fifth indicator, tax and social-security debt, is unavailable because this parser does not expose the required items.

Is the DSCR calculated here the same as the bank’s?

Not necessarily. Banks choose their own cash-flow measure, debt perimeter and time horizon. This tool uses selected historical XBRL items and your principal-repayment input, so its simplified DSCR is not a bank rating or a confirmation that a loan will be approved.

Which items does the tool read, and what are its limits?

The parser recognises a subset of the OIC taxonomy: bank debt, trade receivables and payables, inventory, tax and social-security debts may be in the filing without being exposed by it. The engine can substitute totals, estimate financial debt at 30% of total debts and return zero for missing inputs or zero denominators. It can also use a signed net finance result where an interest-expense figure would be needed. Check the source items: the simplified EBITDA and DSCR are not cash-flow reconstructions.
